I am kind of lost where to start on the story of Kevin and Brigittas wedding. This fun loving couple live in Sydney, Brigittas home city, Kevin from Highland, NY. The contacted me several months ago to begin the process of getting their wedding photography tied up for thier USA wedding. I say their USA wedding as this couple have had 3 weddings. The had there own private wedding in Bali with just the two of them on the beach....so jealous!... then they had their Sydney wedding with Brigittas family and friends. My input was all on the New York affair which was to be held at Kevin's family apple orchard once owned by his grandfather.
So after many skype calls and several months of emails and planning I arrive at JFK on the Thursday morning before the wedding. After collecting my bags I decide I will use the washroom before looking for Kevin who was kindly picking me up from the airport to head north to the Orchard and family home. As I entered into the washroom I seen a familiar face... YUP.... it was Kev lol... Strange place to meet someone for the first time but I took a chance and shook his hand anyway lol.. ;0)
So off we go north about 2 hours drive. Once we navigated some pretty bad road works and traffic we arrived where I finally got to meet the beautiful bride to be, Brigitta. It was all falling into place perfectly, I was so happy to finally be there and get into everything pre wedding. Before that the order f the day was Kevin and Bri invited me to join them and a group of friends for a night at Yankees Stadium.... Too Cool.... of course I accepted and off we went. After my day of travelling I was tired but the thought of hanging out with the bride and groom and some of the best men and bridesmaids was too good to pass on. What a great way to get to know some of them and make sure they were relaxed with me on the wedding day.
After the Yankees game I thought ok now we will roll back home and get to bed ready for a busy day of preparations tomorrow... OH NO... not these guys... it was off to a couple of local bars then we all headed downtown Manhattan and partied until 3am. This was setting the tone for the guys day of Golf and the girls Spa day to come and a family BBQ at night.
So after all the craziness and all the preparation of the garden space set in the orchard everything was ready and the wedding was about to begin
The day of the wedding had an increased threat of rain which thankfully rained out about 1 hour before the ceremony leaving us with a great climate to go ahead and enjoy the day..
With another late night of wedding celebrations and everyone getting to bed around 04:30am it made the game plan for the New York City photo session slide along the scale just a little and instead of hitting downtown at the planned 10am we rolled into town about 3pm with myself as the only valid candidate to drive lol. No probs, it let my babies sleep on the way in and get them all freshened up for their cental park, brooklyn bridge and manhattan bridge shoot. I really wanted to get them some nice images from these locations to take back to Sydney as a great reminder of their New York Wedding.
So... enough of this and onto some photos... because this was basically a four day event I am posting an unusually high quantity of images..
First up, Sept , 2 2012
